NVIDIA Invests $2B in CoreWeave to Accelerate AI Factory Expansion, Boosting Global AI Infrastructure Buildout
NVIDIA and CoreWeave have announced an expanded partnership aimed at accelerating the development of over 5 gigawatts of AI infrastructure by 2030. The collaboration strengthens their existing relationship, combining NVIDIA’s cutting-edge AI computing platforms with CoreWeave’s purpose-built cloud infrastructure and operational expertise to meet surging global demand for AI compute. As part of the agreement, NVIDIA has invested $2 billion in CoreWeave Class A common stock at a price of $87.20 per share. The investment underscores NVIDIA’s confidence in CoreWeave’s strategic vision, technical capabilities, and execution speed in building large-scale AI platforms. Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, emphasized the transformative scale of the current AI era. “AI is entering its next frontier and driving the largest infrastructure buildout in human history,” he said. “CoreWeave’s deep AI factory expertise, platform software, and unmatched execution velocity are recognized across the industry. Together, we’re racing to meet extraordinary demand for NVIDIA AI factories—the foundation of the AI industrial revolution.” Michael Intrator, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of CoreWeave, highlighted the synergy between the two companies. “From the very beginning, our collaboration has been guided by a simple conviction: AI succeeds when software, infrastructure, and operations are designed together,” he said. “NVIDIA is the leading and most requested computing platform at every phase of AI—from pre-training to post-training—and Blackwell provides the lowest cost architecture for inference. This expanded collaboration underscores the strength of demand we are seeing across our customer base and the broader market signals as AI systems move into large-scale production.” The expanded partnership will focus on deepening alignment across infrastructure, software, and platform integration. CoreWeave plans to deploy multiple generations of NVIDIA’s latest GPU architectures, including the Blackwell platform, across its global network. The companies also intend to integrate CoreWeave’s software stack into NVIDIA’s reference architectures for cloud providers and enterprise customers. CoreWeave, known as The Essential Cloud for AI™, serves leading AI labs, startups, and global enterprises. Since its founding in 2017, the company has built a reputation for delivering high-performance, reliable infrastructure tailored for the most demanding AI workloads. It completed its public listing on Nasdaq under the ticker CRWV in March 2025. The announcement comes amid rapid growth in AI adoption, with enterprises and research institutions increasingly relying on specialized cloud platforms to train and deploy large-scale models. The collaboration between NVIDIA and CoreWeave is positioned to play a pivotal role in enabling this shift, helping to power the next generation of AI innovation at scale.
