Cloudflare and JD Cloud Expand Partnership to Deliver Global AI Inference Acceleration with Up to 80% Latency Reduction
Cloudflare, Inc. and JD Cloud, an intelligent technology service provider and affiliate of JD.com, have announced a major expansion of their partnership to accelerate the deployment and scaling of AI inference workloads for global developers. The collaboration aims to create a truly global, high-performance AI Cloud platform, with the potential to reduce latency for AI inference by up to 80 percent. The partnership addresses the growing demand for geographically distributed AI inference capabilities, driven by the rapid adoption of AI-driven applications over the past three years. By integrating Cloudflare’s global network with JD Cloud’s local infrastructure in China, developers can now deploy AI models with minimal latency, regardless of user location. The solution enables seamless connectivity between global developers and the Chinese market, and vice versa, without requiring code changes. Under the new arrangement, traffic from users in China is automatically routed to local data centers operated by JD Cloud, while all other traffic is served from the nearest Cloudflare location worldwide. This hybrid model ensures fast, secure, and reliable performance, enhanced by Cloudflare’s full suite of security services, including its cloud-based Web Application Firewall (WAF), advanced DDoS mitigation, and global Content Delivery Network (CDN). Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare, said the partnership is a key step toward building a globally connected AI infrastructure. “The future of AI depends on a truly global network that can keep up. Our partnership with JD Cloud makes that possible—giving developers a simple, reliable way to build and run AI applications seamlessly across the world,” he said. The collaboration is designed to remove technical and logistical barriers, helping businesses succeed in a competitive international landscape. The expansion builds on a five-year relationship between the two companies, which has already enabled customers to establish a presence in China with just a few clicks. The integration allows for instant, secure, and high-performance access to the Chinese market, while maintaining the same level of service for users around the world. JD Cloud highlighted that the partnership aligns with its mission to deliver top-tier services to its customers. By combining JD.com’s deep experience across diverse business scenarios with Cloudflare’s global network and technological expertise, the collaboration strengthens the ability to serve both international and local developers. The partnership is expected to unlock new opportunities for developers and enterprises seeking to scale AI applications across regions, particularly in markets where low latency and regulatory compliance are critical. As AI continues to transform industries, the joint platform aims to become a foundational layer for next-generation applications.
