Cohesity and Google Cloud Expand Strategic Partnership to Enhance AI-Driven Cyber Resilience and Data Sovereignty for Enterprises
Cohesity, the leader in AI-powered data security, has announced an expanded multi-year strategic partnership with Google Cloud aimed at strengthening cyber resilience and accelerating enterprise AI adoption. The collaboration introduces new integrated solutions that enhance data protection, improve data sovereignty, and unlock AI-driven insights across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The partnership builds on existing integrations and introduces several key innovations. Cohesity Gaia, the company’s enterprise AI assistant, now leverages Google’s Gemini models to enable natural language search across unstructured enterprise data, both in the cloud and on-premises. Upcoming enhancements will embed Google Cloud’s Vertex AI Search into Cohesity Gaia, delivering instant, accurate answers with source citations from data stored in Cohesity’s immutable, AI-ready data lake. A planned integration with Gemini Enterprise, Google’s new agentic platform, will allow secure access to historical enterprise data within the Cohesity Data Cloud. This will enable AI agents from Google and its partners to work seamlessly within existing workflows, driving productivity and automation. A Google Cloud-hosted version of Cohesity Gaia is already available, offering faster response times and higher availability by leveraging Google Cloud’s global infrastructure. This setup enhances the speed and reliability of AI-powered data insights. In cybersecurity, the Cohesity Data Cloud now incorporates Google Threat Intelligence, providing high-fidelity indicators of compromise to detect and respond to threats in backup data. This enables proactive threat hunting and efficient clean cyber recovery. The Cohesity CERT (Cyber Event Response Team) is collaborating with Google Cloud’s Mandiant Incident Response team to support joint clients in rapidly recovering from cyberattacks. Deeper integration with Google Security Operations will automate security workflows, identify threats hidden in backup data, and reduce incident response times. A new cyber resilience SaaS offering, expected to launch soon, will provide cloud-isolated recovery from Google Cloud, allowing organizations to restore critical data from a secure, clean-room environment—even if primary systems are compromised. Data sovereignty is a core focus of the partnership. Cohesity is certified as a Google Cloud Ready – Regulated & Sovereignty Solutions partner. Enterprises can deploy Cohesity Data Cloud within Google Cloud’s Data Boundary to meet strict data residency and governance requirements. Cohesity FortKnox, the company’s award-winning cyber vaulting solution, will be available on Google Cloud, enabling immutable, geographically isolated data copies with policy-based controls to ensure data remains within approved jurisdictions. Cohesity DataProtect now offers expanded support for Google Cloud services including GKE, BigQuery, Google Compute Engine, Google Cloud Storage, and various databases. Customers can use immutable backups stored in Google Cloud or their own infrastructure, with enhanced regional storage options for greater flexibility and resilience. All Cohesity solutions are available through the Google Cloud Marketplace, simplifying deployment and helping customers maximize their cloud investments. The partnership will also include joint go-to-market programs, co-selling initiatives, and integrated marketing efforts. The companies emphasized that upcoming services and features are not yet generally available and may be subject to change or delay. Cohesity serves more than 140 countries, including 70% of the Global 500, and is backed by industry leaders such as NVIDIA, Amazon, Google, IBM, Cisco, and HPE. The company is recognized as a Great Place to Work in multiple regions. For more information, visit www.cohesity.com.
