In May 2024, the PANDA model was showcased at the AI for Good summit, an event hosted by the United Nations, and it has been part of a strategic collaboration with the World Health Organization Data Center. During clinical testing in Chinese hospitals, the PANDA model demonstrated significant value. For instance, at the People's Hospital affiliated with Ningbo University, out of 40,000 individuals screened, the model successfully detected 2 early-stage cancer cases that were missed by conventional screening methods. One of these cases involved a patient with a pancreatic duct tumor measuring just 1.5 centimeters. Thanks to the PANDA model, this patient received timely surgical treatment. Looking ahead, the technology is set to expand its global reach and application. The goal is to provide a more effective AI solution for the early detection and treatment of pancreatic cancer, a disease often referred to as the "king of cancers" due to its aggressive nature and high mortality rate.
