BakerHostetler Partners with vLex to Integrate AI-Powered Legal Platform Vincent Across 18 Offices, Enhancing Client Services and Practice Intelligence

BakerHostetler has entered a three-year strategic partnership with vLex, a global legal data company, to enhance its data-driven legal services through the integration of vLex’s AI-powered platform, Vincent. The collaboration will provide lawyers across the firm’s 18 offices with enterprise access to Vincent, an award-winning legal intelligence and workflow platform that leverages artificial intelligence to deliver customized research, automation, and insights. As part of the partnership, BakerHostetler will work closely with vLex’s forward-deployed engineering team to deeply integrate vLex’s legal data and application programming interfaces (APIs) into the firm’s proprietary data systems. This technical integration aims to create seamless, intelligent workflows that combine vLex’s global database of over 1 billion editorially enriched legal documents with BakerHostetler’s internal data infrastructure. Katherine Lowry, Chief Information Officer at BakerHostetler, highlighted the firm’s long-standing commitment to innovation, noting that its data-first approach began nearly a decade ago with the creation of one of the first specialized data-driven practice groups in the legal industry. “Our data-first foundation makes us unique in the market and positions us to accelerate with advancements in AI,” she said. “By connecting AI to trusted data—both internal and external—we’re building smarter, more efficient systems that drive better decisions and outcomes for our clients.” The partnership will expand BakerHostetler’s ability to deliver comprehensive enterprise risk solutions that span the full lifecycle of data management, particularly in areas like digital assets, data privacy, and regulatory compliance. The firm aims to use Vincent’s capabilities to enhance legal research, automate routine tasks, and generate deeper insights, ultimately improving the quality and speed of client deliverables. Daniel Hoadley, Head of R&D and vLex Labs, praised BakerHostetler’s technical vision, calling the collaboration a rare example of a law firm going beyond basic AI tools to build fully integrated intelligence systems. “Few firms have the sophistication to embed legal AI directly into their core practice infrastructure,” he said. “This partnership will create new capabilities that didn’t exist before—blending Vincent’s advanced workflows with BakerHostetler’s practice intelligence to deliver sustainable competitive advantages and superior client value.” vLex, founded in Barcelona in 2000, has been a leader in legal AI and data innovation for over two decades. Its platform is used by legal professionals in more than 110 countries and is known for combining vast legal content with machine learning to deliver precise, context-aware results. BakerHostetler, with more than 1,000 lawyers across the U.S., specializes in key practice areas including business, digital assets, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, and tax. The firm continues to position itself at the forefront of legal technology, using data and AI to transform how legal services are delivered.
