Protolabs Names Marc Kermisch Chief Technology and AI Officer to Drive Digital Manufacturing Innovation

Protolabs, the global digital manufacturing leader, has appointed Marc Kermisch as its new Chief Technology and AI Officer, effective Monday, October 13, 2025. Kermisch will lead the company’s global technology organization and succeed Oleg Ryaboy, who has departed after three years in the role. “In an era defined by rapid technological change, innovation is at the heart of our mission to transform digital manufacturing,” said Suresh Krishna, President and CEO of Protolabs. “Oleg has played a vital role in advancing our digital capabilities over the past three years, and we thank him for his contributions. As we move forward, our strategic vision centers on delivering seamless prototyping-to-production solutions, and Marc’s proven track record in leading technology, R&D, and AI initiatives makes him the ideal leader to drive this next phase of growth.” Kermisch brings over 25 years of executive experience across technology, manufacturing, software, and retail sectors. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Emergent Software, a full-stack technology firm specializing in AI, data engineering, and cloud transformation. Prior to that, he was Global Chief Digital and Information Officer at Case New Holland, a $20 billion manufacturer of agricultural and construction equipment, where he led innovation in autonomous systems, precision agriculture, and electric powertrain development. He has also held senior leadership roles at Optum Rx, Bluestem Brands, and Red Wing Shoe Company, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for American AgCredit and Crew Carwash. “Protolabs is a true pioneer in digital manufacturing,” said Kermisch. “From instant online quoting and intelligent machine automation to AI-powered quality control, the company has built a deeply integrated digital workflow across its entire production chain. I’m excited to expand this foundation by accelerating innovation in software and artificial intelligence. AI has the potential to revolutionize every stage of manufacturing, and I look forward to helping Protolabs lead that transformation.” Protolabs is the world’s fastest manufacturing service, empowering companies across industries to streamline the production of high-quality parts—from rapid prototyping to full-scale production. The company supports engineers, product developers, and supply chain teams throughout every stage of the product lifecycle. More information is available at protolabs.com.
