Datavant and AWS Launch Cloud-First Health Data Solution to Accelerate Life Sciences Research and Insights
Datavant, a leading data collaboration platform in healthcare, has announced the general availability of Datavant Connect powered by AWS Clean Rooms, a cloud-first solution designed to transform how health data is discovered and used. The new platform addresses a long-standing challenge in the life sciences industry: the slow, fragmented, and inefficient process of finding and evaluating real-world data for clinical and commercial research. Since January 2025, four of the top 20 pharmaceutical companies and 15 leading real-world data providers have partnered with Datavant and AWS to test and refine the solution. These data partners include AnalyticsIQ, Arcadia, Carelon Research, Century Health, Diaceutics, HealthWise Data, McKesson Compile, OM1, OMNY Health, OneMedNet, Ontada, Prognos Health, Veradigm, Verana Health, and Veritas Data Research. They have contributed diverse data types such as claims, clinical records, registries, lab results, genomics, mortality, and socioeconomic information, creating a rich, representative foundation for research. The platform enables life sciences organizations to securely assess and collaborate on data without moving sensitive information, using AWS Clean Rooms to maintain data privacy and compliance. This allows users to explore specific variables and endpoints before purchasing, supporting a more informed, efficient, and trustworthy data evaluation process. Arnaub Chatterjee, General Manager and President of Life Sciences at Datavant, said the solution is accelerating end-to-end evidence generation. “Cloud-first insights generation is now transforming how pharmaceutical organizations source fit-for-purpose data outputs more efficiently, speeding up the entire research and decision-making process.” Dr. Jared Saul, Chief Medical Officer at AWS, highlighted the innovation behind the platform. “After nearly two years of collaboration, it’s clear that AWS Clean Rooms is redefining data discovery. This solution goes beyond traditional cohort analysis, allowing users to verify data quality and relevance while protecting privacy—truly embodying our ‘trust but verify’ principle.” Datavant Connect powered by AWS Clean Rooms is now available through Datavant and on AWS Marketplace, with seamless data delivery via AWS Data Exchange. The platform builds on Datavant’s existing network of over 350 real-world data partners, offering greater flexibility in how data is accessed and analyzed across different cloud and analytics environments. As data producers continue to enhance their datasets with new variables and higher quality, the platform enables life sciences teams to quickly adopt the latest data innovations. This marks a significant step forward in making health data more secure, accessible, and actionable, helping drive faster, more reliable insights in clinical research and commercial strategy.
