Proofpoint Launches First Agentic AI Solution for Real-Time Human Communications Intelligence, Transforming Compliance and Risk Detection Across 80+ Channels

Proofpoint, Inc., a leader in cybersecurity and compliance, has launched the industry’s first agentic AI solution for Human Communications Intelligence (HCI), marking a transformative advancement in enterprise communications governance. The new offering redefines how organizations detect, understand, and prevent compliance, security, and legal risks in real time by analyzing human behavior across digital communications. Unlike traditional systems that rely on keyword matching or rule-based alerts, Proofpoint’s HCI uses true agentic AI to interpret human intent, context, and tone across more than 80 communication channels—including email, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, mobile messaging, social media, GenAI chatbots, voice, and file sharing. Built on Proofpoint’s Nuclei technology, acquired earlier this year, the solution employs intelligent agents that autonomously assess conversations, identify emerging risks, and provide transparent reasoning for every alert. A recent study of 1,600 global CISOs found that collaboration tools like Slack and Teams are now the top source of organizational risk—surpassing even GenAI chatbots, cloud storage, and Microsoft 365. Yet most compliance teams still depend on outdated connectors that capture content without delivering meaningful insight. Proofpoint’s HCI addresses this gap by turning raw communications into actionable intelligence, enabling proactive risk mitigation before incidents occur. Key capabilities of the solution include: Real-Time Communications Intelligence: Proofpoint Capture ingests data in real time and applies reasoning AI agents that analyze intent, context, emojis, shorthand, code snippets, and multilingual content. These agents deliver not only risk flags but also clear, explainable justifications for each alert—ensuring compliance teams understand the logic behind every decision. Explainable, Cost-Effective AI Supervision: Proofpoint Supervision uses advanced AI models to analyze 100% of captured communications with high precision. It reduces long-tail noise by up to 90% compared to legacy systems, significantly cutting false positives and manual review work. This enables scalable, auditable supervision across complex regulatory environments. Signal-Driven Risk Prevention: Risk signals from HCI are integrated directly with Proofpoint’s Insider Threat Management (ITM) platform. By correlating what employees say with their actions across endpoints, the system identifies motive, means, and opportunity in real time—creating the industry’s first closed-loop feedback system for proactive risk intervention. The solution is available now, with additional AI enhancements—including a new class of LLMs for Supervision—expected in Q4 2025. Integration with Insider Threat Management is planned for Q1 2026.
