SHARON AI and VAST Data Launch Sovereign AI Supercluster in Australia with InsightEngine, Enabling Secure, High-Performance AI for Government and Enterprise
SHARON AI, Australia’s leading Neocloud provider, has launched its sovereign supercluster at NEXTDC’s Tier IV M3 data center in Melbourne, powered by VAST Data’s InsightEngine. The integration marks a major advancement in secure, compliant, and high-performance AI infrastructure for Australia’s regulated industries and public sector. The VAST InsightEngine is an end-to-end system for ingesting, embedding, indexing, and retrieving data in real time. It supports structured, unstructured, and streaming data, enabling low-latency, massively parallel vector and hybrid search. This capability is critical for large-scale retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agentic AI workflows. Built into the VAST AI Operating System, the InsightEngine ensures unified governance, security, and data lineage, with policy-based access controls, encryption, and full auditability across all queries. Ofir Zan, AI Solutions & Enterprise Lead at VAST Data, emphasized the importance of secure, real-time reasoning at scale: “As AI systems grow more advanced, the ability to reason over vast datasets securely and instantly will define the next generation of enterprise intelligence. With SHARON AI, we’re enabling complex, multi-step retrieval and reasoning workflows—all within a sovereign environment.” The new supercluster enables organizations to move from AI experimentation to production-ready deployments with repeatable, enterprise-grade workflows. In financial services, it supports high-throughput, low-latency inference using a large native vector index to search through billions of records, while enforcing strict access permissions. In public safety and smart city applications, the system processes massive volumes of video and metadata in real time—improving situational awareness, reducing response times, and keeping sensitive data within Australian borders. Wolf Schubert, CEO of SHARON AI, said: “By combining our sovereign GPU cloud with the VAST InsightEngine, we’re building the foundation for enterprises and government agencies to run cutting-edge AI workloads locally, securely, and without compromise. This milestone at NEXTDC reflects our commitment to delivering sovereign, high-performance AI infrastructure for Australia.” Initial workloads are already underway, with researchers from the University of New South Wales (UNSW) using the platform to advance reasoning-focused AI research. PhD students are exploring specialized post-tuning, fine-tuning, and GPU-accelerated model architectures to improve reasoning capabilities, scalability, and domain-specific performance. Their work aims to develop smaller, more efficient models for applications in science, forecasting, and AI evaluation. SHARON AI, a high-performance computing company focused on AI and cloud GPU infrastructure, recently entered a business combination agreement with Roth CH Acquisition Co. (OTC Markets: USCTF), a blank check shell company based in the Cayman Islands. The transaction, expected to result in SHARON AI becoming a publicly traded company in the U.S., is subject to regulatory approvals and stockholder votes. Full details will be available in the registration statement on Form S-4 filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Forward-looking statements in this release—including expectations around the business combination, product development, and infrastructure deployment—are based on current assumptions and may differ materially due to risks such as delays, regulatory hurdles, market conditions, and unforeseen costs. Investors are encouraged to review all SEC filings for detailed risk disclosures.
