Aeva Unveils Omni, the First Compact Wide-View Short-Range 4D LiDAR for Physical AI Applications at CES 2026

Aeva, a leader in next-generation sensing and perception systems, has unveiled Aeva Omni™, the industry’s first compact, wide-view short-range 4D LiDAR sensor designed for physical AI applications. Announced at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Omni is the result of a strategic collaboration with LG Innotek, a global leader in mobility sensing solutions and affiliate of the LG Group, which is responsible for hardware integration, manufacturing, and quality assurance. Built on Aeva’s proprietary Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) technology, Omni delivers precise short-range perception with unique capabilities such as simultaneous detection of position and velocity, immunity to interference from sunlight and other LiDAR signals, and resistance to blooming and ghosting around reflective surfaces like lane markers, street signs, and safety vests. The sensor features a panoramic 360° horizontal and 90° vertical field of view, enabling full-scene coverage for near-field detection, object classification, obstacle avoidance, and real-time situational awareness. Designed for dynamic and confined environments, Omni combines per-point velocity data with a range of up to 80 meters in a compact 85mm diameter form factor. This makes it ideal for applications in autonomous vehicles, drones, robotics, warehouse automation, defense systems, and smart infrastructure. Its IP68 and IP69K ratings ensure reliable performance in harsh conditions, including rain, dust, fog, and high-pressure wash-down scenarios. Mina Rezk, Co-Founder and CTO at Aeva, said the new sensor extends the company’s chip-based FMCW platform into new application areas where wide-view, short-range perception is critical. “Omni delivers high-resolution, real-time awareness across an exceptionally wide field of view, enabling safer and more intelligent automation across a broad range of physical AI systems.” Omni complements Aeva’s existing long-range automotive-grade LiDAR portfolio, forming a unified 4D perception platform that spans from immediate near-field detection to ultra-long-range highway sensing. The sensor will be available for early customer pilots in the second half of 2026, with full production targeted for 2027. Aeva will showcase its full suite of FMCW perception solutions at CES 2026 in booth #6919 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. Partner exhibits featuring Aeva technology will also be on display at LG Innotek’s booth #3800 and AGC’s booth #6653. Aeva’s mission is to advance autonomy across industries by delivering intelligent perception through its LiDAR-on-Chip technology, system-on-chip processing, and advanced perception algorithms. The company continues to drive innovation in autonomous driving, robotics, factory automation, and smart infrastructure. Forward-looking statements in this release, including expectations about product performance, availability, and market adoption, are subject to risks and uncertainties. Aeva cautions readers not to place undue reliance on these statements, which reflect current expectations but are not guarantees of future performance.
