Workers Who Use AI Are More Likely to Get Promoted and Enjoy Better Work-Life Balance, Clutch Report Reveals

A new Clutch report reveals that employees who actively embrace artificial intelligence in their work are significantly more likely to receive promotions, earn raises, and achieve better work-life balance. Based on a survey of 428 full-time U.S. workers, the findings show that AI adoption is not leading to job displacement, but rather rewarding those who upskill and integrate AI into their daily tasks. The data highlights a clear career advantage for AI adopters. Eighty-nine percent of workers who completed an AI training course received a raise or promotion within the past year, compared to just 53% of those who did not. Regular users of AI tools are 1.5 times more likely to advance in their careers, and 66% say their AI skills give them a competitive edge over colleagues. Many employees view AI training as a personal investment, with half covering the cost of courses themselves. Despite this, 44% believe AI skills are valuable in today’s job market. Experts emphasize that companies don’t just reward course completion—they value employees who apply AI knowledge to deliver measurable results. Beyond career advancement, AI is also improving daily work life. Sixty-three percent of respondents reported that AI has enhanced their job performance, while 62% said it has helped them achieve better work-life balance. Most use AI to complete routine tasks more quickly, freeing up time for higher-level responsibilities or personal activities. “Workers who master AI are not just faster, they are more valuable,” said Hannah Hicklen, who manages tech and business content at Clutch. “AI fluency is becoming a key differentiator in promotions, raises, and long-term career growth.” The full report is available on Clutch’s website.
