Shilpa Kolhatkar, global head of AI nations at NVIDIA, emphasized the transformative role of AI in public services. “In the public sector, AI is already helping process documents, policies, and regulatory information at scale, enabling citizens to receive the answers they need instantly,” she said. She noted that AI adoption is rapidly expanding into areas such as AI avatars, speech recognition, gaming, music, and even the global K-pop industry—sectors where Korea continues to lead with innovation. Major Korean conglomerates are deeply integrating AI into their operations. Samsung, SK Group, Hyundai Motor Group, and NAVER Cloud are all investing heavily in AI-driven solutions, from smart manufacturing and autonomous vehicles to cloud-based AI platforms. These efforts are helping to build a robust, interconnected digital ecosystem. The event featured hands-on workshops from the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute, where participants gained practical experience with AI and machine learning tools. The “Ask the NVIDIA Tech Experts” session provided developers with direct access to technical teams, offering guidance on using NVIDIA’s open models, data resources, and software libraries. Ankit Patel, senior director of developer marketing at NVIDIA, discussed the company’s open AI models and the growing importance of accessible, high-performance tools for developers. He highlighted how NVIDIA’s ecosystem is empowering startups and enterprises alike to accelerate innovation. Kweonwoo Jung, senior machine learning engineer at NAVER Cloud, presented on the development and deployment of AI agents within NAVER’s digital services, showcasing how intelligent automation is improving user experiences across search, content, and customer support. The event underscored Korea’s growing influence in the global AI landscape, with strong public-private collaboration, a highly skilled workforce, and a culture of technological innovation driving progress. As AI continues to evolve, Korea is positioning itself as a key player in shaping the next generation of digital transformation.
