Service Composition

Service composition refers to the coordination and integration of multiple independent services to form a larger service capable of accomplishing complex tasks T. Task T can be broken down into several subtasks T_i, each corresponding to a set of services S_i with identical functionalities and input-output parameters. The core objective of service composition is to select one service from each service set S_i to optimize overall Quality of Service (QoS) attributes. Given that the number of possible service compositions is n^m, and it requires k·n^m comparisons to determine the optimal solution, this problem falls into the category of NP-hard problems. Service composition has significant application value in enhancing system flexibility, reusability, and response speed.
