Flexport Unveils Advanced Customs Technology Suite to Slash Tariffs, Boost Compliance and Cut Costs Amid Trade Uncertainty

Flexport has launched its new Customs Technology Suite as part of its Fall 2025 Technology Release, introducing over 25 new AI-driven tools designed to help businesses navigate complex global trade environments, reduce costs, and improve compliance. The suite addresses growing challenges from tariffs, shifting trade policies, and supply chain volatility. Ryan Petersen, Founder and CEO of Flexport, emphasized the company’s mission to simplify global logistics: “Global trade is so important and yet it’s constantly slowed down by complexity, opacity, and inefficiencies. Our goal is to make logistics as simple and reliable as flipping a light switch.” The new tools include: Tariff Simulator Pro – An advanced version of Flexport’s Tariff Simulator, offering real-time monitoring of tariff rate changes and landed cost tracking across a company’s full product catalog. It features smart alerts to help importers adapt quickly to policy shifts. Customs Analysis – An AI-powered platform that analyzes a business’s historical U.S. customs entries using data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. It assesses compliance, identifies risk areas such as incorrect duty payments or classification errors, and uncovers opportunities to reduce costs. Compliance Audit – A real-time AI tool that reviews nearly 100% of customs entries as they are processed by Flexport’s licensed brokers, significantly improving accuracy and reducing audit risks. This contrasts with the industry standard of reviewing only 5–10% of entries after the fact. Flexport Intelligence & Insights Builder – An AI chatbot that allows users to ask questions about their supply chain and customs data in plain language. It generates visual reports, charts, and summaries to help teams make faster, data-driven decisions. Enhanced Duty Drawback – Upgraded algorithms now deliver up to twice the refunds compared to other customs brokerages. To date, Flexport has helped over 300 customers secure more than $700 million in duty drawback refunds. Beyond customs, Flexport is also rolling out additional cost-saving solutions to help businesses maintain margins amid rising freight costs and trade uncertainty. The company’s broader vision is to build a fully autonomous supply chain, where goods move seamlessly across borders with minimal friction. Flexport’s integrated platform combines cutting-edge technology with deep logistics execution and compliance expertise, serving more than 13,000 companies worldwide—from startups to Fortune 500 enterprises. By combining AI, automation, and real-time data, Flexport aims to transform global trade into a more predictable, efficient, and accessible process, allowing businesses to focus on innovation and growth rather than navigating complex trade regulations.
