Netcracker Technology has been honored with the TM Forum Moonshot Catalyst Award for its groundbreaking project aimed at addressing the intricate technical and business challenges faced by automotive original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in deploying advanced applications for connected and autonomous vehicles. The award was presented during DTW Ignite in Copenhagen, recognizing the collaborative effort between Netcracker, Toyota, Vodafone, NTT Data, and other partners. The winning project, titled "Monetizing Federated Connectivity for Automotive OEMs," streamlines the deployment of new vehicle applications and reduces costs by enabling seamless access to on-demand network resources via standardized APIs to ensure interoperability. This achievement marks the highest level of recognition within TM Forum's technical projects, highlighting significant breakthroughs in innovation. Netcracker’s sophisticated cloud solution formed the backbone of this project, connecting Toyota’s automotive applications, Vodafone’s Procure & Connect platform, and NTT Data’s 5G slicing capabilities. This integration created a robust end-to-end monetization framework, supporting essential functions such as partner onboarding assisted by generative AI, and real-time adjustments in billing and invoicing among partners. Key business outcomes from the project include: - Optimized operational efficiency - A 3-5% increase in average revenue per user for telecommunications partners - Successful monetization of low-latency connectivity services - Accelerated service rollout - Enhanced vehicle safety features - Substantial reduction in carbon dioxide emissions through optimized routing and vehicle efficiency Aaron Boasman-Patel, Vice President of Innovation at TM Forum, praised the project for its broad applicability. "This Catalyst project stood out because it addresses an industry at the forefront of technology while demonstrating potential for use in other verticals such as healthcare, smart factories, and augmented reality," he said. "We congratulate all the companies involved in developing this transformative scenario." Bob Titus, CTO of Netcracker, highlighted the significance of edge computing and seamless connectivity. "Enhancing advanced vehicle connectivity services through edge computing will drive further innovation and create new monetization opportunities for automobile manufacturers and the broader ecosystem," he stated. "We are proud to be part of this pioneering project and grateful to the judges and TM Forum for recognizing the dedicated work of all participants."
