SRE.ai Raises $7.2M to Build Cross-Platform DevOps AI Agents for Enterprises

“It wasn’t one big lightbulb; it was death by a thousand cuts,” Edward Aryee recalled when describing the moment he and co-founder Raj Kadiyala decided to launch SRE.ai. The insight came from years of observing the frustrations engineers face in enterprise DevOps workflows—especially those outside elite tech companies. SRE.ai, founded in 2024 by the duo, is building AI-powered agents that can understand natural language commands and execute complex DevOps tasks such as continuous integration, testing, and deployment across multiple cloud platforms. Unlike traditional tools that require teams to stitch together low-code solutions for specific environments like Salesforce, AWS, GCP, or Azure, SRE.ai offers a unified, chat-like interface that works seamlessly across them all. Kadiyala, who serves as CEO, explained that the idea emerged during their time at Google Research and DeepMind. Aryee, the company’s CTO, said they were struck by the gap between the sophisticated infrastructure tools available internally at Google and the clunky, fragmented systems used by engineers at other companies. Friends in the industry often complained about mundane but time-consuming challenges—like resolving metadata conflicts or debugging inconsistent configurations. “It gnawed at us,” Aryee said. They concluded that the next evolution of DevOps needed to be more intelligent, context-aware, and accessible. That vision became SRE.ai. The company officially emerged from stealth this week and announced a $7.2 million seed round led by Salesforce Ventures and Crane Venture Partners. The funding round was oversubscribed, reflecting strong investor confidence in the team and the product’s potential. SRE.ai’s onboarding process is designed to be frictionless: the system automatically connects to a user’s existing integrations and begins learning their workflows. From there, teams can customize the platform for specific needs—release pipelines, real-time dashboards, data monitoring, and more. Behind the scenes, AI agents continuously monitor systems, detecting issues like security vulnerabilities or configuration drift, and then suggest actionable fixes. This allows human IT and DevOps teams to shift focus from repetitive, error-prone tasks to higher-impact work like system architecture and innovation. Kadiyala emphasized that SRE.ai stands out from competitors like Copado, Gersetm, and Flosum by its cross-platform intelligence and ability to operate in heterogeneous enterprise environments. “We’re not just automating tasks—we’re redefining how engineers interact with their infrastructure,” he said. The company participated in Y Combinator’s Fall 2024 cohort, which helped them connect with key investors and refine their product vision. With the new capital, SRE.ai plans to expand its team by hiring AI engineers and Salesforce specialists to support growing customer demand and accelerate platform development. “We’re seeing early traction, and we’re excited to build a team that can scale with our customers and deliver even smarter, more intuitive DevOps experiences,” Kadiyala said.
