AI and Satellite Imagery Boost Australia’s Bushfire Preparedness

The FireSat program is designed to be scalable and cost-effective, leveraging advancements in miniaturized satellite technology and machine learning. In collaboration with local authorities, researchers, and Indigenous fire management groups, the Earth Fire Alliance is training AI algorithms to recognize fire patterns specific to Australia’s diverse ecosystems—from eucalyptus forests to grasslands.
