AIG Names Scott Hallworth Chief Digital Officer to Lead Digital, Data and GenAI Strategy
American International Group, Inc. (NYSE: AIG) has announced the appointment of Scott Hallworth as Chief Digital Officer, effective September 1, 2025. In this role, Hallworth will lead AIG’s digital, data, and generative AI (GenAI) strategy, focusing on establishing enterprise-wide standards and scaling GenAI across the organization. Hallworth will join AIG’s Executive Leadership Team and be based in New York. He will initially report to Claude Wade, Executive Vice President, Chief Digital Officer, and Global Head of Business Operations & Claims, until the end of 2025. At that time, Wade will step down from his operational duties due to health reasons and transition to an advisory role. Starting January 1, 2026, Hallworth will report directly to Peter Zaffino, Chairman and CEO of AIG. Zaffino praised Hallworth’s appointment, highlighting his extensive experience in digital transformation, data strategy, and GenAI, as well as his deep background in insurance and risk management. With over 30 years of leadership in technology, banking, and insurance, Hallworth brings a proven track record of driving innovation at scale across complex organizations. Hallworth joins AIG from Hewlett Packard Inc., where he served as Chief Data Officer. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at Capital One and Travelers, including Senior Vice President and Chief Actuary. His career spans multiple industries, giving him a unique perspective on integrating advanced technologies into risk and operations frameworks. Hallworth expressed his enthusiasm about joining AIG, noting the company’s strong foundation in data and digital innovation. He emphasized his commitment to leveraging GenAI advancements to drive meaningful impact across the organization. Zaffino also extended his gratitude to Claude Wade, recognizing his pivotal role in building AIG’s digital infrastructure and establishing the company’s data and AI foundation.
