Aeris Expands IoT Accelerator Platform to Provide eSIM Orchestration, Visualization, and Control Services Globally Through Carrier Partnerships CHICAGO—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Aeris, a global leader in secure cellular IoT platforms and solutions, has announced the expansion of its IoT Accelerator platform as a platform-as-a-service (PaaS). This extension allows Aeris and its carrier partners to offer unified, single-SKU eSIM services to OEMs and corporate customers through a streamlined interface. This approach significantly reduces unnecessary costs and prevents margin stacking in price-sensitive markets, setting it apart from competitive services that often require multiple aggregation layers. Earlier this year, Aeris acquired the IoT Accelerator platform from Ericsson for over $2 billion. This substantial investment enables partner companies in various sectors, including automotive, utilities, fleet management, and connected devices, to leverage eSIM technology without the complexity of managing intricate service setups. The single SKU model and avoidance of redundant margins make the platform highly adaptable, offering flexibility for deployments in any country worldwide. According to Berg Insight’s 2025 report, "IoT Connectivity Management Platforms and eSIM Solutions," the third-party IoT connectivity management platform (CMP) market is projected to grow from $1 billion in 2024 to $1.8 billion by 2029, representing an annual growth rate of 12%. Aeris currently collaborates with 30 major mobile network operators (MNOs) to provide IoT connectivity to more than 190 countries. Aziz Benmalek, CEO of Aeris, commented, “This expansion of IoT Accelerator solidifies Aeris’s position as a leader in the IoT market. By offering a unified interface and single SKU, we provide flexible and scalable IoT connectivity without the need for complex SIM overlay platforms or additional costs.” He added, “Through our platform services and carrier network integration, we deliver a seamless user experience, opening new market opportunities and regional expansions for carriers and other stakeholders.” Key Enhancements of the Expanded Aeris IoT Accelerator: Advanced eSIM Capabilities: OEMs and businesses can deploy eSIM-enabled devices globally using a single SKU, enhancing sales efficiency and profitability. Integrated Core Network: A common network across multiple carriers allows for centralized management of IoT networks and devices. Enhanced IoT Ecosystem: End-to-end services optimized for cost-effectiveness address diverse needs, fostering collaboration across industries. Jonathan Cohn, Aeris’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), said, “This expansion marks a significant step in enabling businesses to roll out their IoT programs globally, both smoothly and profitably. Our ‘single pane of glass’ approach provides a consolidated interface for managing multiple carriers, partners, and regions, streamlining operations.” Mark Kratsenburg, General Manager of Aeris's IoT Division, also noted, “Global IoT deployment requires a single API, a unified portal, and localized functionalities adapted to each region. Aeris’s platform supports flexible and efficient global deployment without the need for additional overlay investments, along with billing infrastructure that aligns with various business models.” Berg Insight’s report highlights Aeris’s leadership in commercializing eSIM services, with the company expecting to manage 34 million eSIMs on its platform by the fourth quarter of 2024.
