ElevenLabs Launches 11ai: A Free Voice Assistant That Automates Daily Tasks with Anthropic's MCP Integration

ElevenLabs, a company renowned forits AI voice cloning capabilities, has unveiled a new voice assistant called 11ai. This assistant aims to go beyond the capabilities of traditional voice assistants by integrating with Anthropic's Model Context Protocol (MCP), an emerging industry standard that allows seamless connectivity between AI systems and proprietary data. Launched on Monday, 11ai is designed to automate various tasks, from planning morning agendas to conducting customer research and managing projects. The assistant’s unique selling point is its ability to connect directly to everyday tools such as Slack, Google Calendar, and Perplexity, enabling users to issue voice commands that trigger specific actions. If users prefer, they can also clone their own voices for a personalized touch. ElevenLabs emphasizes the security and user control offered by MCP. Each integration can be configured with specific permissions, ensuring that 11ai only accesses the actions and data you authorize. This feature is crucial as concerns about AI privacy and data security continue to grow. The company is currently offering 11ai in an experimental alpha stage, inviting users to sign up for free at 11.ai. Users can select their preferred language, voice, or create a custom cloned voice, and then link their desired integrations. Additionally, users can customize the assistant's behavior, speed, and avatar appearance. The goal is to gather feedback and improve the platform's functionality, conversation flow, and range of actions. ElevenLabs' privacy policy outlines its data handling practices, noting that personal data may be processed to develop and train AI models. However, the company assures users that this data is disassociated or removed to prevent identification. For those who choose to clone their voice, ElevenLabs provides options for different usage levels, and it commits to deleting voice data three years after the user's last interaction. To further expand its reach, ElevenLabs launched a mobile app on Tuesday. Geared toward creators, professionals, and educators, the app allows users to generate voiceovers and other AI-powered audio in 70 languages directly from their smartphones. New users receive 10,000 free characters per month, making it accessible for a wide range of applications. 11ai and its mobile counterpart represent ElevenLabs’ foray into practical, everyday AI tools that prioritize user experience and versatility. By leveraging MCP and offering a wide array of customization options, the company aims to set itself apart in a crowded market. Industry experts view ElevenLabs' move as a significant step forward in the realm of voice-activated AI assistants. They note that the integration with MCP could revolutionize the way these assistants interact with users and their data, potentially leading to more personalized and efficient automation tools. ElevenLabs' robust privacy measures are also praised, though ongoing scrutiny of AI companies’ data practices remains essential. ElevenLabs, founded in 2019, has quickly risen to prominence with its text-to-speech and sound effect generation services. The company has attracted attention for its advanced voice cloning technology, which it leverages to offer high-quality, customizable AI solutions. With the launch of 11ai, ElevenLabs continues to innovate and push the boundaries of what AI can do for users.
