The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT), a nonprofit scientific organization dedicated to advancing the science of food and its application across the global food system, is excited to announce the launch of CoDeveloper, a cutting-edge AI-powered R&D platform. This tool is designed to streamline the product development process, accelerate formula creation, and solve technical challenges, ultimately contributing to better food quality worldwide. Built by IFT’s team of food scientists, CoDeveloper leverages the computational speed of AI to integrate users with over 85 years of IFT's peer-reviewed research and published content. Key features include: Sous: A built-in generative AI co-scientist that assists users in real-time during the development process. Advanced Formulation Tools: These tools enable iterative development, allowing researchers to refine formulas more efficiently. Science-Optimized Reverse Engineering: This feature helps users understand existing products better, facilitating innovation and improvement. Enterprise-Grade Security: Ensures that users' proprietary data remains protected while connecting them with a wealth of trusted scientific information. "The food system is evolving rapidly, and IFT is uniquely positioned for this moment. With more than eight decades of scientific leadership and a global network of experts, CoDeveloper is our bold response to the urgent need for smarter, faster R&D tools." - Christie Tarantino-Dean, IFT CEO Christie Tarantino-Dean, IFT’s CEO, emphasized the organization's commitment to addressing the food industry's pressing needs. "More than eight decades of scientific leadership and a global community of experts back our new platform, CoDeveloper. It is our innovative solution to the growing demand for efficient and effective R&D tools, and it underscores our dedication to shaping the future of food through trusted science and information," she stated. CoDeveloper will be introduced to the public at IFT FIRST, the annual food research, science, and technology event held in Chicago. This event attracts leading food and beverage professionals from academia, government, and industry, providing a unique platform for discussing and solving the major issues facing the food sector. This year’s keynote sessions will focus on AI, food additives, sugar and salt reduction, and GLP-1 agonists. To register for IFT FIRST, interested attendees can visit the IFT website. Members receive special pricing, and those interested in learning more about membership and year-round networking and educational opportunities can contact membershipinfo@ift.org.
