Google Launches New Resource Hub to Empower Small Businesses with Digital Tools and AI
Twenty-five years ago, Google introduced digital advertising to its search engine. Over the past quarter-century, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing the remarkable evolution—from the early days of AdWords to today’s advanced, AI-powered tools. The story of these 25 years is one of global empowerment: millions of small businesses have grown, and Google’s own journey has been deeply intertwined with their success. From the founders who started with a single idea to the people building lasting legacies, their stories continue to inspire our mission. That’s why today we’re launching a new resource hub designed to help small businesses thrive in the digital world—and sharing the journeys of a few that are already making a difference. Digital tools have transformed the playing field. Eighty-two percent of small businesses say digital ads have directly contributed to their revenue growth, and 79% believe these tools help them compete with larger companies. Platforms like Google Ads, Business Profile, and Merchant Center bring the power of AI to small businesses, simplifying advertising, improving visibility, and helping them connect with customers more effectively. For entrepreneurs without large marketing teams, technology offers a way to work smarter and faster—democratizing access to tools that once were available only to big brands. We’ve watched countless small businesses turn passion into profit, and the impact goes far beyond revenue. We’ve seen owners use their success to send their children to college, take family vacations for the first time, and reward their teams with extra bonuses. It’s a profound honor to be part of these journeys and to witness the pride that comes with building something meaningful. Here are three stories that reflect this journey: Louisiana Crawfish Company For over 40 years, Louisiana Crawfish Company has brought the flavor of the Bayou to homes across the United States. What began as David McGraw’s bold idea in 1985—to ship live crawfish—has grown into a multi-generational business. In 2002, the company began using Google Ads to reach crawfish boil enthusiasts nationwide, shifting from a wholesale-only model to a nationally recognized brand. Today, their online presence helps them serve customers far beyond their local roots, turning a regional specialty into a national favorite.
