OpenAI’s official status page confirmed that "elevated error rates and latency" were being reported starting from that time, impacting not only ChatGPT but also the company's Sora text-to-video AI tool and the OpenAI APIs. By 5:23 AM ET, OpenAI had updated its status page to reflect specific issues with Sora, marking them as "elevated error rates." The status for ChatGPT was subsequently changed to indicate a "partial outage." While some users can still access the service, they are noticing that responses are significantly slower than usual. Others, including myself, have been able to use ChatGPT without encountering any problems, suggesting that the impact of the issues is not uniform across all users. OpenAI stated that it is "continuing to investigate this issue," although the exact cause of the outages remains uncertain.
