Uber's Product Chief Reveals How AI Tools Like ChatGPT and Gemini Enhance His Work Efficiency

Sachin Kansal, Uber’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), recently shared his strategies for integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into his daily work at the ride-hailing giant. For instance, when his team was considering a new driver feature, Kansal tasked ChatGPT with researching potential driver perspectives on the add-on. In April, Khosrowshahi stated that only a fraction of Uber’s approximately 30,000 employees are currently using AI tools. Andrej Karpathy, Tesla’s former director of AI and an OpenAI co-founder, has been particularly vocal about the tool’s potential. In a September post on X (formerly Twitter), Karpathy lauded NotebookLM, describing its podcast feature as a novel and compelling format for AI-generated content. He compared it to the early impact of ChatGPT, suggesting that NotebookLM might be pioneering a new era in AI-assisted information consumption. Kansal’s embrace of AI tools reflects a growing trend in the tech industry, where leaders are increasingly recognizing the value of AI in enhancing productivity and decision-making.
