The course is designed to provide students who are about to enter the workforce with a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in AI and their impact on the professional environment. Through case studies, discussions, and research, students will explore how AI is creating new job opportunities across various industries and the potential moral and legal challenges it presents. The aim is to inspire students to think deeply about their roles and social responsibilities in the AI-driven future. “Future of Work” is one of six courses offered this semester, all of which are aimed at helping students navigate the rapidly changing job market. The widespread adoption of AI is an unstoppable trend, and this course will offer valuable insights, equipping students to adapt and leverage this technology in their future careers. By participating in the course, students will gain a deeper appreciation of the complexities of AI technology and learn how to apply ethical principles in real-world work scenarios. This is not just a technical exploration but a profound reflection on human values and social duty. Dr. Nelson-Marsh hopes that this teaching approach will develop students' critical thinking skills and overall competencies, ensuring they are well-prepared to succeed in the competitive job market of the future.
